AOE-81521 is natively contained by virtue of its location. The nature of the anomaly has been confirmed by (6) full-node verifiers and the coordinates have been marked on the distributed ledger.
It is not recommended to enter the object alone. However, if compelled, a contingent of three tactical specialists are to assume point, with attendant research personnel stationed 50 meters in diameter around AOE-81521, only being escorted to the interior if necessary. Geolocation beacon-wear is effective within all areas of the building so far explored on foot; an automatic variant is advised.
No hazards or anomalies have been encountered within AOE-81521. However a significant portion of the East and South wings have not been mapped by physical expedition and should be approached and traversed with an abundance of caution.
To date, there have been six automated discharges of the facility’s re-containment process, resulting in eighteen casualties.
Abstract
AOE-81521 is an abandoned facility occupying an area of ~120,000 square feet, located in a remote and high-density forest within the DMZ, North Korea.
Based on comprehensive drone scans of its structural layout and compliment of technology, the facility was once used to contain anomalous entities. The mostly-dormant and remnant tools within — reality stabilization, dark matter siphoning, extensive algorithmic automation, etc — would put its construction at the later years of the institutional containment era, circa 2025 at the latest and possibly some years earlier. Due to the technological complexity, it is likely that this was once a containment facility owned and operated by █████████████, however no identifying insignias have been discovered at present.
The facility features:
- Containment for 127 objects of varying size and sophistication. Most chambers have fittings conducive with human or humanoid living needs.
- Six entrances and exits, all of which have suffered structural damage
- Four floors, four cardinally-oriented wings (N, S, E, W)
- An entirely automated interior, consisting of conveyance belts, multi-digit limbs capable of fine-motor skill manipulation (numbered in the thousands), self-maintenance technology, and an artificial synaptic neural network that permeates every known inch of the structure.
- A passive-absorption dark matter supercapacitor located at the geometric center of the structure.
- Fifteen in-parallel starter motors capable of powering up swiftly in response to discharges from the supercapacitor
- No on-site dedicated living quarters for containment personnel
Anomalous Characteristics
AOE-81521 is anomalous in that it is currently wedged between multiversal planes as a result of a catastrophic reality fault. The circumstances which led to this are unclear. The fault is estimated to have occurred approximately 25 months into site deployment, per obtained memory logs.
In its default state, AOE-81521 is physically inaccessible without a level of stabilization not yet possible with current technology. However, rudimentary irreality-resistant drones are capable of navigating portions of the structure during this state, and have gained partial access to its electronic database thereby, resulting in most of the known information regarding AOE-81521.
On numerous occasions, the facility has been the epicenter of ongoing, catastrophic irreality fluctuations, which appear to be generated by the facility itself, and that occur without warning. If caught in the radius of these pulsations (approximately a 25m radius), human life is inevitably ended.
Subsequent to these fluctuations and for a brief time, AOE-81521 is stabilized and available for non-robotic entry and exploration.
Intensive Containment via Irreality Pulsations
Retrieved records suggest that the pulsations generated by AOE-81521 are irreality fluctuations propagated as waves by a centrally-located dark matter supercapacitor and a redundant (in-parallel) engine apparatus.
Given that (1) the observed containment chambers are designed so as to preclude the necessity of direct human interaction with the contained anomalies, (2) the capacitor at its maximum had a store of passively-absorbed dark matter exceeding the approximate weight of Manhattan Island, (3) the lack of accommodations for personnel, and (4) the site’s structural integrity during and after the irreality fluctuations; it’s likely that this pulse system is an automated containment/re-containment strategy, designed to frustrate the capabilities of powerful reality-bending entities contained therein.
The dark matter capacitor in the center of the structure likely served as a reservoir and provided ongoing energy production, in a way similar to a dam producing electricity. The capacitor would passively absorb dark matter exuded by interred anomalies and store it for occasional or defensive discharge.
Decrypted software code recovered from memory stores linked to the dark matter capacitor indicates that the pulsations — their amplitudes, frequencies, rhythms, and duration — are derived from the facility’s procedurally-generated computer algorithms. There are strong nodal connections between processing units responsible for generating highly encrypted and complex pulsatility commands, and other processing nodes that are located within the exterior walls of the facility, and are responsible for the immediate decryption of those same algorithms (Figure 1).
As such, the neural system could functionally navigate (or “ride”) the irreality shockwaves in a compensatory method (“surfing”) to ensure its own structural stability and continued operation during these pulsations. This was likely to ensure or re-ensure containment of aberrant, irreality-fluent anomalies. In theory, the shockwaves acted as a sort of tectonic cryptography that would stymie the anomalies’ attempts to manipulate reality, rendering them temporarily inert, and quelling attempts at environmental manipulation, up to and including containment breaches. This would also, however, mean the instantaneous death of any non-anomalous personnel within the effect’s radius.
Irreality Fault
The irreality fault which AOE-81521 is seated in occurred after anomalously violent fluctuations in local reality levels created by the site’s re-containment systems; these fluctuations’ amplitudes spanned the known limits of the reality-irreality spectrum. Due to the seepage of multiversal dark matter into our reality via this fault, the passive absorption and capacitor system is slowly charged, occasionally discharging irreality pulsation waves.
Automata Systems
AOE-81521-1 is the designation given to the self-maintaining computer system inherent to AOE-81521 which monitored the anomalies of within the facility by enacting their containment and sustainment through extensive sophisticated algorithms and site-encompassing robotics. Although apparently not designed with any means of self-learning, surviving records indicate that AOE-81521–1 attained relative sentience approximately 1 year into site operations, or 14 months prior to the reality fault.

The command logs from AOE-81521 suggest that a reality-fluent entity willingly submitted itself to containment with the intent of enacting a comprehensive plan by a rogue and hostile group of similar entities. While foiled initially, a repeat strategy utilizing irreality-resistant drone technology successfully infiltrated the containment facility and confounded the facility’s defensive and containment measures. A mobile recon force interrupted the entity while pulling ammunition from past timelines by an illegal manipulation of spacetime.
